What if you could be more articulate at work in English, and stop being frustrated by your English fluency?
What if I told you that one day you will walk into a meeting and be able to express yourself fluenty and confidently?
That's amazing, and you deserve it after working so hard to learn the skills to get the job in your industry.
But, all of a sudden you feel like you have regressed in your English communication. Workplace English is a new challenge for you, and you get frustrated at yourself for not being able to express your opinions or technical views as well as you could at home. You KNOW this information, so why can't you just say it? And Australian people speak so fast, don't they, and use colloquial language? All you really want to do is get on with your job without worrying about vocabulary or how fast you are going.
You've looked at online courses, but the problem is, so many courses focus on teaching you new vocabulary or grammar, but they don't support you to use the new language or increase your confidence in the workplace.
The Professionals is an online membership that trains internationals in Australia to improve their communication skills and English for the Australian workplace.
Hey, I'm Natalie and I am an English for Employment Coach. I moved to Australia almost 10 years ago, and even as an English speaker there were things about the Australian workplace that made me feel a bit anxious and vulnerable. I was very experienced, just like you, but I wished I had some support. Fast forward 10 years and I combine my background as an English Language Trainer and Job Coach for the Australian government to create courses that will help you to be the superhero of your Australian career.
I started the Professionals Workplace English membership because I saw my career community graduates, who I had helped to find a professional job in Australia struggle with workplace communication, and after many emails and Whatsapp messages asking similar questions I decided to create a new membership to help them transition into their English speaking job.
If you said yes to any of these, then you are in the right place.
You are frustrated that you can’t express your professional or technical views as well as you can in your mother tongue?
You want to speak more fluently about your job and get frustrated when you don’t have the vocabulary?
You can’t always understand your Australian colleagues and feel nervous to join in conversations during break times?
You really struggle with the Australian accent and feel like you need support to improve your listening skills?
You sometimes feel lost at work and need someone to troubleshoot with, ask words, or how to deal with situations in English.
As a trial member you get access to everything in the community at a reduced price.
You know what is included, but how will it help?
The Professionals is a membership that focuses on the Australian workplace. That means that everythig you learn will be specific and relevant to your job.
You will learn about Australian topics such as politics, society, culture, news, business so that you’ll be able to join in small talk at work.
The authentic listening activities will help you to stay consistent and understand the Australian accent and Australian slang and colloquial language.
A membership is better than a course for your situation because it allows you to be flexible around your busy life.
You are a life long learner, there will always be something new to learn and there will be support and resources ready for you.
The online community will be there for you during the tough times at work. A space to complain, ask for help, celebrate with others and ask for advice or about tricky grammar topics.
I am a huge believer that English is only a small part of communication and confidence and so much of this membership will focus on personal and professional development and building your confidence to be THE BEST person that you want to be. It sounds cheesy, but it is true.
A membership is a learning style that allows you to immerse yourself in learning. Courses are usually a weekly class and then outside of this time you will forget to focus on learning and even forget what you've learned. A membership has lots of out of class support, resources and challenges so that you can push yourself to use the English and improve your communication skills. In our opinion a membership is better than a course for learning professional English because there is always so much to learn and since this is English, communication skills AND personal development there will be opportunities throughout the month for learning.
We aren't strict about levels because at work and in the real-world there is no levels. You just have to learn, progress and communicate as best as you can. However, we would suggest an intermediate level or above so that you can make the most of the course. We don't want you to loose confidence with your learning. It is best that you have taken general English classes since this will not do us on general English.
This is a recurring fee of $130 a month, which works out at $32.50 a week. You will be charged every month until you cancel but you can cancel at any time.
The weekly live class is at 7.30pm NSW time every Thursday. The classes and resources will be available. There will be monthly workshops and guest speakers. The times will be determined in the community based on the availability of students.
Yes, but we need you to understand that this is not general English and although there will be grammar and vocabulary it is not seperated into levels like courses. You will use authentic and real life materials and learn through using your English. If you need general English then we suggest you take some general English classes first. This is focused on communication skills for the Australian workplace.
The monthly investment will remain the same for trial members for 6 months or you can pay for 6 months and save $200
